About Me
Mehmet Dogan
Psychologist
I am a Psychologist with experience in humanitarian and psychosocial work, supporting people navigating migration, emotional overwhelm, and identity transitions.
My Journey
I am a psychologist by training. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Eastern Mediterranean University, where I built a strong foundation in psychological theory and practice. Later I started my Master’s degree in Communication and Social Transformation at Gaziantep University. I continued my development through specialized training in Mental Health in Complex Emergencies at Fordham University, and for years I worked in humanitarian and psychosocial fields. Often alongside people who were displaced, rebuilding life in new places, or carrying invisible emotional weight.
Alongside my education, I have over eight years of professional experience in humanitarian and psychosocial fields. I worked extensively within EU-funded projects and international programs, including roles connected to United Nations–affiliated initiatives, supporting people affected by displacement, migration, and social exclusion. Those experiences shaped me deeply. I’ve come to understand that healing doesn’t always begin with a diagnosis alone. Often, it begins in quieter places: being seen, being heard, feeling safe, finding language for what has been unspeakable, and slowly belonging to life again.

How I Work
Today, I continue this work in a more personal way. I offer counselling for people navigating emotional overwhelm, migration, loss of home, burnout, identity struggles, loneliness, or the complexity of being alive.
My approach is grounded, gentle, reflective, trauma-aware, and deeply human. I currently offer counselling and psychosocial support rather than clinical therapy.
